Our second turn does let us run ahead of her, but only if we put down a Skeleton in front of ourselves. It's not great because it means that we're moving towards the queen as she moves towards us but it gets us a Bandana (Swift I, Armour I). We drop one monster in front of the Mimic Queen and the other next to us. He doesn't quite have such a good start, picking up four monsters and a dead-end room. Meanwhile, Giel M the Bruiser is trying his hand at the Mimic Queen. Ranson the Alchemist picks up the Fountain Addict scar for his trouble, and we get 218 gold and unlock a new quest. Starting with the Arcane IV card in our hand immediately lets us heal four health and gain two extra cards as the combat starts, and after that Embro doesn't stand a chance. This time Embro proves to be no trouble at all.

We do so, fighting a couple more Bear Owls on the way and swapping our Masquerade Mask for a Bone Helmet (Arcane II). It will now take us four moves to reach him (assuming we get two compatible room cards) and we have five turns before he finishes his bath so we've a good chance of catching him with reduced health. From him we trade our Arcane Wand for a Winged Staff (Arcane I, Holy II) and we're ready to face Embro. We do, and get a Heater Shield (Fire II) from it, and proceed on to the Bandito in the dead end. Our next turn gives us a Fire Elemental and we decide we probably can take it. However, since Banditos have lower health in dead ends, we place the one we drew into the dead end containing the chest in the hope that we'll fight him in a couple of turns time in his weakened state. Our fourth move is unfortunately a wash-out as we don't get any room tiles going the right direction and the only two monsters are a Bandito and a Fire Elemental, neither of which we quite fancy taking on this turn.

Only three turns in and we're already level four. We win this handily and grab a Masquerade Mask (Arcane I, Holy II). Pushing our luck, our third move gives us a fight against a level three Bear Owl.

This bold move pays off, and we pick up some Mage Robes (Arcane I, Holy I, Fire I). Not wanting to mess about, our second move also takes us in the right direction and we go straight for a level two Gnoll. We get a good start, picking up a room that takes us in the right direction and a Fire Imp to kill, netting us an Arcane Wand (Arcane I, Growth I). Ranson the Alchemist, our new recruit, enters Embro's dungeon.
